Bedford Giving's Young Voices Conference

Tuesday 21 October 2025

We are hosting our second Young Voices Conference in October, bringing together businesses, charities, educators, and community leaders to hear directly from young people about the challenges they face and how to create the brighter future they want to see.

We hold this conference to ensure the adult community truly listens to young people, values their opinions, and works with them to find solutions. It aligns with Bedford Giving’s mission to be a platform for young voices, empowering them to shape the future of their borough.

Join Bedford Giving for a dynamic day of youth-led discussion, inspiring stories, and practical collaboration!

Morning Highlights:

  • Hear directly from local students
  • Explore the impact of Bedford Giving’s programmes:
    • Taste of the Workplace
    • Career Mentoring

Afternoon Seminars:

  • Work Ready – schools & employers supporting young people
  • What does Feeling Secure Mean? – Hear from youth voices on safety and wellbeing

Youth Stories, Real Solutions

At the first conference a powerful film, created by young filmmaker Krish Gupta, highlighted key issues raised by local youth, including safety concerns, financial education, and the lack of free activities. Speakers, including Bedford Youth Parliament representative Tanna and young entrepreneur Luke Brown, shared their experiences and solutions.

Turning Ideas Into Impact

Attendees took part in workshops to develop real actions and 94 per cent pledged their support to drive positive change. The conference was just the beginning — Bedford Giving is committed to turning these conversations into action.
